Montfort - The Founder

St Louis de Montfort, born on 31st January 1673, as Louis Marie Grignion, emerged as a courageous and prophetic leader of his time. He discovered the face of God in the suffering,poor and dedicated his life entirely to their upliftment and dignity.

Within him flowed an unceasing spring of love, courage, self-giving service, and unwavering commitment to the marginalised. This powerful source of strength was rooted deeply in his profound relationship with God.

His life was a testimony of sacrifice, simplicity, and fearless mission. He challenged the world not just through words, but through action and compassion. Every step he took reflected his burning desire to bring hope to the underprivileged and the downtrodden.

Though he departed this world on 28th April 1716, his spirit continues to inspire countless lives across the world. His legacy lives on through the Congregations of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, the Priests of the Company of Mary, the Daughters of Wisdom, and numerous Montfortian Associates.

Today, Saint Louis de Montfort remains a timeless beacon of faith, service, and transformative love. His example continues to call generations towards lives of purpose, discipline, courage, conviction and compassion.

Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel 

The Montfortian Society, though founded in the 18th century, began its remarkable journey in India in 1903. Since then, the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel have grown into a dynamic force, serving the society through over a hundred educational, social, and cultural institutions all over the world.Their mission in India reflects a deep responsiveness to the diverse and evolving needs of society. They are present in schools, technical institutes, and centres of higher learning, shaping young minds with knowledge and values.Their service extends to special education and rehabilitation for the blind and the deaf, and to compassionate care for the aged, the differently-abled, and the orphaned. They actively engage with youth, uplift communities in urban slums, and reach out to remote tribal regions with dedication and hope.Their commitment also finds expression in promoting civil rights, social justice, and communal harmony.
